Another nicely painted figure. Rory has grasped the use of tans, blues, and greens - shading and washing to good effect.
He also likes the detail - make the figure more interesting.
Rory was trying for a red marble effect for the base after being inspired by James Wappel. At first he over did it having light highlights from all different angles. The grain did not quite flow - should be like veins rather than random. But with a few touches we get this effective and unusual base. I still think it looks more like a highly polish wood rather than marble - but still good.
A warning though. If you want people to admire your figure don't over complicate the base. It should enhance (the red/black showing the tan up in contrast here) and compliment your figure. Also make sure any holes in the base are filled before painting!!
