Welcome to the Meat Grinder: The Battle for the Restored Fortress
From ‘A History of the Frostbite Campaigns’
By Professor Vladimir Kutezedov, University of Hades
It is an easily told story. The Red Blok sped in, occupied the bunker and remained in possession until the end of the battle. The actual fight was a good deal harder. A unit of RPG Soldaty were the first inside the bunker and they soon came under attack. They were supported by a unit of Sierp mortar striders, the Soundouk which had carried them in and a Hetman strider. The transport was the first to go down but it had done its job and it took out a few morphos as it was blown to pieces. The Red Blok forces continued their advance, with units of Krasnye following their RPG comrades and keeping the ever increasing number of Therians at bay.
The unfortunate, but heroic, collectivist soldiers in the bunker had been under continuous fire but the solid walls had protected them. They were also supported by more infantry outside. They believed themselves to be safe and in control. Suddenly their mood changed as they saw Therian flamers approaching. The aliens’ weapons spat gouts of hellfire at the bunker’s firing slits. The occupants didn’t stand a chance and were wiped out to a man. The enemy couldn’t take advantage and occupy the bunker as it was covered by surrounding Red Blok fighters. Besides, the morphos were also dying in great numbers as mortars, rockets, grenades and small arms fire cut them down as they advanced. The Restored Fortress began to resemble a butcher’s yard.
No sooner had the bunker been cleared, than another unit of Red Blok ran in to take it. They managed to survive and with the arrival of a unit of Dragonovs the Therians decided to retreat. It was somewhat of a Pyrrhic victory and only time would tell if the Red Blok advance could maintain its momentum.

and the last fight let us face.
