The Beginning
Extract from Cog planning meeting prior to attack on Maranos
A-VOLUTION – As usual C-NAPS is the voice of reason. This planet is perfectly suited to all our needs. Speaking for our Line, the factories can be easily adapted to our production methods. Even if the native workforce is unwilling to cooperate, our own technicians are more than capable of taking over.
G-NOCRAT – We agree. Quite apart from the industrial benefits, the planet is ideally situated for trade and it has a large agricultural sector. Our Line would be able to establish a research facility easily with plenty of food available locally. Moreover, the population is vibrant and healthy – prime subjects for our research!
T-REGULATOR – The output of Maranos is impressive and its technical facilities are second to none. It would make an excellent base and it will provide our Line with many of the resources we need.
C-NAPS – We are all agreed then. Our armies will begin mobilisation as soon as is practicable. We must also remember that our arch enemies, the Therians, seek to take this planet for their own ends. We are duty bound to prevent this. At last we are back in the game. We can bicker over the spoils after we win.
