Good Morning Comrades
Brought to you by the Agitation and Propaganda Subcollective
Your ideologically sound newsreader on this bright collectivist morning is Ivonta Legova:
Good morning comrades, a very good day to you. Coming up in today’s carefully vetted and highly censored programme:
On the galactic front, ONI has entered into an alliance with the Therians. We can only speculate on what this means for the future.
Industrial output has risen again during the last quarter. According to the latest figures Red Blok factories now outstrip those of the UNA by some 20%.
A breakthrough has been made to counter the capitalist propaganda which somehow reaches our TV network. A device has been developed which records these contemptible pieces of drivel automatically and then plays them back when the comrades are out and about doing their revolutionary duty. The device subsequently erases the items, thus relieving the population of the need to think for itself. Isn’t the collectivist system wonderful?
But first; over to Elysee and our military correspondent, Mikhail Tearemov. Mikhail...
Thank you Ivonta. Here I am in the Emerald Mounts with our comrades in uniform. They face four other powers. The Karmans, Therians, ONI and UNA.
The fighting has been going on for two weeks with the battle lines swinging to and fro constantly. At the moment no one has a clear advantage but, of course, that will change when the mighty Red Blok unleashes its main assault.
The Therian, alien, imperialists attacked in the south and beat back a Red Blok thrust into the Observation Post. The collectivist assault almost succeeded but our heroic troops were overwhelmed by superior alien forces. In the central area all the combatants met at the Spaceport. The Karmans were already dug in and managed to hold on despite the efforts of the other three powers. The Therians were the most aggressive, engaging the Karmans while the Red Blok and UNA engaged in a desultory fire fight with no clear outcome.
In the north the Karmans entered Serenity City with no opposition but had to beat back a UNA assault force to take the Caves of Doubt.
The second week began with a Red Blok attack on the Observation Post which faltered due to equipment problems and was repulsed by the defenders. There was better news from the Spaceport as units from Supra took this area. The Karmans had withdrawn and the Red Blok faced the UNA capitalists and the mercenary ONI. The outcome was inevitable. Once again, revolutionary fervour prevailed.
In the north things remained quiet as the Karmans and UNA manoeuvred for an advantage. The former retained control of Serenity City and moved to occupy Mount Serenity while the latter occupied the Caves of Doubt.
As we enter the third week things are really beginning to get nasty. The Therians and Red Blok continue to battle for the Observation Post while at the Spaceport our troops are digging in for the inevitable capitalist counter attack. In a strategic breakthrough the Frontline company has been airlifted to Mount Elysee, using transports liberated when the Spaceport fell into collectivist hands. Reports indicate that no opposition was met on Mount Elysee.
The Karmans and UNA are set to clash in both Serenity City, where the Karmans already have a presence, and the Caves of Doubt. Now back to you Ivonta.
Thank you Mikhail.
